Several Area Police Stations Now Accept Old Medicines

The Missouri Prescription Pill and Drug Disposal (P2D2), a non-profit organization, has expanded its prescription drug take-back program from four (4) to nine (9) local police stations.

Permanent collection boxes across St. Louis County include:

City of Webster Groves Police Department
4 S. Elm
Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

City of Sunset Hills Police Department
3905 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
Open 24 hours every day

St. Louis County Police, Affton Southwest Precinct
9928 Gravois Road
Open 24 hours every day

St. Louis County Police, South County Precinct
3031 Telegraph Road
Open 24 hours every day

St. Louis County Police, West County Precinct
232 Vance Road
Open 24 hours every day

This service is free, anonymous and provides an environmentally-responsible way to dispose of unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medicines.

 

Hazardous Household Waste Center Now Open

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility in Lemay is now open for residents from St. Louis County, St. Louis City, and Jefferson County.

The facility is located at 291 E. Hoffmeister.

Items accepted include:  Paints (latex is not hazardous), stains, varnishes, wood preservatives, pesticides, herbicides, poisons, solvents, and strippers, aerosols, motor oil and filters, gas cylinders (BBQ pit size or smaller), fluorescent tubes, batteries (rechargeable, car batteries), driveway sealant and mercury-containing devices (thermometers, thermostats, salts).

The first 50 pounds of waste may be dropped off at no charge.

Savers Thrift Superstore opens in Crestwood!

Savers Thrift Superstore had their grand opening at their newest location in Crestwood on February 21, 2013.  At Savers you can find quality used clothing, jewelry, housewares, furniture, books, toys and more at amazing low prices!  They also offer a Super Savers Club and a Save Big program for seniors (55+).  You can donate reusable clothing and household items at their Community Donation Center.  Savers pays the Vietnam Veterans of America every time you donate.
